Frequently
Asked
Questions
Patients: I work with teens and adults, and welcome people of all races, cultures, sexualities, and gender identities. I work with individuals, couples, and families.

Fees: My fee is $350 for individual therapy and $400 for couple and family therapy. I bill at the end of the calendar month and ask for payment to be made by the end of the following month.
Reduced Fees/Pro Bono Work: I have a number of reduced fee and pro bono hours in my practice. When possible, I am able to offer a sliding scale fee to make therapy affordable, based on financial necessity. Please call 617-306-5688 for more information about current possibilities for reduced fees.

Insurance: While I do not belong to any insurance panels, many plans do offer out of network coverage. I can provide you with a bill including the necessary information to seek reimbursement or, with your permission, I am able to submit bills directly to your insurance provider on your behalf to help you get reimbursed. For health insurance purposes, I am considered an "out-of-network provider" rather than an "in-network provider". If your health insurance plan has out-of-network coverage (most PPO or POS plans do), my services may be covered in full or in part by your insurance or employee benefit plan.* If you have any questions about whether your plan will cover my services, it may help to call your health insurance's member services and ask the following questions:
-
Do I have "out-of-network" benefits for psychotherapy?
-
What is my "out-of-network" deductible and has it been met?
-
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
-
Is approval required from my primary care physician?
-
Does my insurance have out-of-network benefits?
*Please note that I am unable to work with any "HMO" health insurance plan.

Payment: My preferred payment method is by check, though I am also able to accept cash, credit cards (AMEX, Visa and Mastercard), Venmo, Zelle, and ApplePay.

Length of Sessions: Individual Sessions are 45-50 minutes, Couple and Family Therapy Sessions are 55-60 minutes.

Hours: Regular appointments are scheduled Mondays through Fridays.

Cancellation Policy: I charge my regular fee for any missed appointments. I ask for 1 week's notice to reschedule an appointment without charge. If you need to reschedule an appointment within 1 week, I will try to offer you alternative appointment times within the same calendar week to make up the appointment. If we are unable to reschedule the appointment then I will try to fill the appointment. If I am unable to fill the appointment then I will charge my regular fee for the cancellation.
